Barcelona’s head coach, Hansi Flick, has eased concerns regarding the fitness of defensive player Gerard Martín, who left fans worried after the recent clash with Espanyol.
Martín’s departure from the field at halftime during the Catalan Derby, which Barcelona won 4-1, had fueled speculation about a potential injury and upcoming absence. However, Flick offered positive news when speaking to the press after the match.
Looking ahead to Barcelona’s crucial Champions League second-leg fixture against Atlético Madrid next week, the German manager’s update was reassuring. Speaking to DAZN, as reported by journalist Gerard Romero, Flick stated: “Gerard Martín will be able to play on Tuesday.”
This confirmation means Martín is expected to be available for the significant European encounter.
