Barcelona Eyes Real Sociedad Goalkeeper Álex Remiro Amid Transfer Talks
Reports indicate that Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, recently held discussions with the representatives of Real Sociedad's prominent player, Álex Remiro.
These talks suggest that the talented goalkeeper has been identified as a potential transfer acquisition for the Catalan giants.
While securing a new goalkeeper is not the primary focus for the Camp Nou hierarchy this summer, the club remains vigilant for promising opportunities in the transfer market.
It is in this context that Álex Remiro, a player whose name has been circulating, comes into consideration.
The 30-year-old is the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for Real Sociedad and is widely regarded as one of La Liga's most outstanding shot-stoppers.
A significant point of concern for Real Sociedad's management at Anoeta is that Remiro's current contract is set to conclude in the summer of 2027.
Given Wojciech Szczęsny's advancing age and the uncertainty surrounding Marc-André ter Stegen's long-term future at the club, Barcelona appears to be evaluating a potentially cost-effective move for Remiro in the coming months.
This interest is further substantiated by a report from Carlos Monfort, a Barcelona expert at Diario Sport, who stated: "Deco has met in the last few hours with Álex Remiro’s entourage to find out about his contractual situation and analyse the fit of his possible signing."
