The next fixture on their agenda was a friendly against Birmingham's Championship rivals, Preston North End, scheduled for Monday.
However, on the eve of the match, Flick and his team were informed that the game would not proceed as planned. According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the cancellation is due to Barcelona's opponents having several players unavailable and intending to field a large squad of Under-21 players.
Consequently, Barcelona will now hold an unscheduled training session on Monday.
