Hansi Flick Confirms Barcelona's Provisional Captains
Barcelona's head coach, Hansi Flick, has addressed the team's captaincy situation. This comes after recent reports suggested a potential shift in leadership roles within the club.
The Catalan giants have seen two key figures in their captaincy group depart this summer: Marc-André ter Stegen and Ronald Araújo.
With Frenkie de Jong, who was next in line, also sidelined due to a long-term injury, Hansi Flick and his coaching staff faced a significant decision.
During a press conference on Tuesday, the Barcelona manager was questioned about the captaincy hierarchy.
Flick announced that, considering De Jong's current unavailability and the possibility of new players joining before the transfer window closes, he has established a provisional three-player shortlist. A collective vote will be held at a later date to finalize the captains.
Currently, the temporary captaincy nominations for Barcelona are Raphinha, Pedri, and Eric García.
