João Félix Reflects on Atlético Madrid Tenure

João Félix recently spoke about his disappointing spell at Atlético Madrid. He affirmed that, despite the difficulties, he doesn't regret his decision to join the club.

Félix signed with Atlético in 2019 for a club-record fee, which remains the highest in their history. However, his time in La Liga fell short of expectations.

While he showed glimpses of his talent, Félix never fully justified his price tag. His performances were often inconsistent, leading to frustration.

The Portuguese forward has since played for Chelsea, AC Milan, and Barcelona. He is currently with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

In an interview with Diario AS, Félix addressed his time at the Metropolitano stadium. He admitted:

“I don’t regret my time at Atlético. I experienced some very beautiful and important moments there. It helped me mature. I don’t regret arriving in Madrid at such a young age at all.

“As I’ve always said, I never stopped trying to do my best for myself and the team. I tried to help whenever I could. Like everything in life, a player goes through ups and downs, although of course I would have liked to have had more positive moments than I had at Atlético.”
