Barcelona's prodigious talent, Lamine Yamal, has etched his name further in European football history with a remarkable performance against Feyenoord. The young star was instrumental in Barcelona's commanding 5-1 victory, demonstrating his growing influence on the continental stage.

Hansi Flick's squad opened their European campaign in emphatic style on Wednesday night. Hosting the Dutch side Feyenoord in Catalonia, Barcelona maintained their explosive start to the season with a dominant performance.

Yamal, starting the match, proved to be one of the most impactful players on the pitch. Operating from the right wing, the 19-year-old directly contributed to three of Barcelona's five goals, registering two assists and scoring a free-kick himself.

In doing so, Lamine Yamal has claimed a new Champions League record. According to statisticians Opta, "Lamine Yamal now has 21 goal involvements in the UEFA Champions League (11 goals, 10 assists); the outright most by a teenager in the competition’s history, overtaking Kylian Mbappé’s 20."

This statistic was confirmed immediately after Yamal's first assist of the night, meaning his total goal involvements have since risen to 23.
