‘This is why we signed him’ – Hansi Flick hails one Barcelona star after win over Rayo
Barcelona's head coach, Hansi Flick, has publicly lauded goalkeeper Joan García following his outstanding performance for the Catalan giants.
García's latest remarkable display between the posts occurred during Barcelona's recent La Liga encounter against Rayo Vallecano. The match, held at the Spotify Camp Nou, saw Flick's squad in action earlier today.
Despite experiencing an injury scare mid-week, the Spanish shot-stopper was crucial, featuring in the starting lineup for the game. Barcelona ultimately secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory, largely thanks to the former Espanyol player, who proved to be the undisputed standout performer on the pitch.
Joan García was in phenomenal form in the Barca goal, making a series of top-tier saves that effectively kept a persistent Rayo offense at bay and ensured the clean sheet.
Speaking to the media after Sunday's match, it came as no surprise when Hansi Flick was quick to commend his number one, stating: "This is why we signed Joan García. Today's clean sheet was entirely his effort."
