Four injured players are included in Australia’s ODI World Cup 2023 team. With Australia playing their opening game against the hosts in Chennai on October 8, they must hurry to get healthy.

By September 28, Australia’s final 15-player squad must be confirmed to the ICC. The quartet were recovering well, according to Australia’s chief selector George Bailey, and could play in three ODI warm-up matches later this month against India.

Bailey continued, “All are well positioned to return online in the ensuing weeks and possibly for selection in the upcoming series against India.

While Smith (wrist injury), Maxwell (ankle), and Starc (groyne injury) are also sidelined for the current ODI series in South Africa, Cummins is recovering from a fractured hand.

Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, and Adam Zampa make up the Australian team, which is led by Pat Cummins.

The four Australian players who were on the 2019 team have one month to get ready for the competition. Selection chief George Bailey was quoted by PTI as saying, “All are well placed to come back online in the coming weeks and potentially for selection in the upcoming series against India.”
