During the recent international break, OGC Nice officially announced the contract extension for their manager, Franck Haise. The former RC Lens coach, whose previous agreement was set to conclude in 2027, has now committed his future to the club until 2029.
In a press conference, Haise provided insights into his decision to extend his tenure and clarified the timing of the announcement. He explained, “I actually finalized the extension back in August, even before the season began. Once the competition kicks off, I prefer not to engage in contract discussions. My decision to extend was driven by the club and management`s desire to build for the long term, avoiding the immediate pressure of results and aiming to improve things by implementing certain changes. It`s neither simple nor easy, but that is our objective.”
Haise further elaborated on the strategic delay in announcing the news, stating, “We wanted to prioritize and handle the most crucial aspects first: our ongoing work, the initial matches of the season, and the summer transfer window. Regarding the extension, we deliberately chose to announce it during the international break when the schedule was calmer. This was the planned approach.”
