Alvaro Morata has commenced his pre-season training with Galatasaray, while the loan agreement deadlock involving Milan and Como remains unresolved. The striker was observed at Galatasaray`s training camp, actively participating in sessions with his teammates from the Istanbul club.
This situation presents an unexpected turn for Morata this summer. He had previously accepted a transfer to Como last month, which was intended to be part of a double deal totaling €40 million, also including Milan defender Malick Thiaw.
Just last week, reports indicated that Morata had sent his personal belongings back to Madrid and was notably absent from pre-season preparations. For the anticipated transfer to proceed, an early mutual termination of his current loan spell at Galatasaray was required, a condition that has proven exceptionally challenging to fulfill.
The 32-year-old forward joined Galatasaray on a loan deal from Milan in February for a fee of €6 million, with the agreement set to run until January 2026. Under the terms of this deal, the Turkish team has an obligation to buy him for €8 million in January 2026. Alternatively, they retain the option to extend the loan by another six months and complete his permanent transfer for €9 million in June 2026.
Further complicating matters was Thiaw`s refusal to join Como. This development effectively reduced the initial comprehensive transfer plan to a direct negotiation solely involving Morata and Milan, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing saga.
