Ambitious Turkish club Galatasaray has set its sights on Gianluigi Donnarumma, the prominent goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain and the Italian national team. His current contract with PSG is scheduled to expire in 2026.
The Istanbul giants are actively demonstrating their bold transfer market ambitions by aiming to secure a world-class goalkeeper. Reports indicate they had previously made significant offers for other top shot-stoppers, including Mike Maignan from AC Milan, Yann Sommer from Inter, and Ederson from Manchester City.
Donnarumma Emerges as Key Target

Now, Donnarumma has reportedly become their primary target. His agreement with PSG concludes in June 2026. Speculation suggests that the Parisian club may be unwilling to sustain his current high salary of €12 million per season. This situation could potentially lead to the highly-rated goalkeeper departing as a free agent as early as next summer.
Securing Donnarumma would undeniably represent a sensational move for Galatasaray, underscoring their commitment to making major statements in the transfer market, much like their reported €75 million agreement for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. However, considering the strong interest in the Italian international from other major European clubs, such as Chelsea, Inter, and Juventus, should he opt to leave Paris, an offer from Istanbul is widely considered unlikely to persuade him.
