Gasperini Jokes About Sancho’s Potential Move to Roma: ‘Call Him If You Have His Number’

Football & Cricket

Roma`s head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, humorously responded to journalists` questions regarding the potential transfer of Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, suggesting they contact the player themselves if they had his number. This transfer saga has been ongoing for several weeks. Sancho, whose future at United is uncertain, is in the final year of his contract. Despite prolonged negotiations, Roma has yet to receive the player`s definitive approval, although Gasperini maintains that Sancho has never directly refused a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

Jadon Sancho looking on

Over the past week, reports have indicated that the Giallorossi are also exploring other reinforcement options, including Chelsea`s Tyrique George, who shares the same agent as Sancho, as well as Federico Chiesa and Benja Dominguez.

Gasperini`s Comments on Sancho Negotiations

During his pre-match press conference ahead of Roma`s upcoming Serie A match against Pisa, Gasperini was asked about the club`s attempts to sign Sancho.

“Call him if you have his number,” Gasperini quipped. “You seem to know everything. I don`t know what the chances are now. Sancho is a possibility, and we are also a possibility for him. If it doesn`t happen, he`ll stay where he is,” the Roma coach confirmed.

Jadon Sancho celebrating

Although Roma continues to seek new attacking reinforcements, Gasperini emphasized his satisfaction with the current players available for Saturday`s match against Pisa.

“Roma`s attack tomorrow will consist of Ferguson, Dovbyk, Dybala, El Shaarawy, Baldanzi, and Soule. There`s also (Antonio) Arena, who has intrigued me, so I will have him on the bench to start getting to know him.”
