The transfer of defender Daniele Ghilardi to AS Roma is nearing completion. Both clubs are currently in the process of finalizing the specific details regarding performance-related add-ons, which will supplement the agreed €10 million base transfer fee from Hellas Verona. Once these terms are settled, Ghilardi will be given the green light to undergo his medical examination.
The defender is poised to join Roma`s squad for the upcoming season and is reportedly prepared for the move, especially given that Verona has already concluded the initial phase of their pre-season training camp.
Following previous reports on a conference call held last night to discuss the deal, it has been confirmed that the official transfer documents had not yet been exchanged as of this morning.
Why Ghilardi`s Transfer to Roma Is Not Yet Official

Hellas Verona had agreed to the €10 million fixed fee but requested a slightly higher amount in additional bonuses. This is primarily because, under the terms of Ghilardi’s previous transfer to the Stadio Bentegodi, Fiorentina is entitled to receive 50 percent of the fixed future sale amount.
However, this clause applies solely to the fixed transfer fee. Any performance-related bonuses will be fully retained by Hellas Verona.
Consequently, the expected final financial arrangement is set to be €10 million upfront, plus an additional €2 million in performance-based bonuses.
All parties are currently working through the final administrative procedures before Ghilardi is cleared to proceed with his medical.
