Football & Cricket

Despite being scheduled to join Inter`s pre-season training on Wednesday, Hakan Calhanoglu`s agent has reportedly arrived in Istanbul for discussions with Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

The midfielder`s future at Inter remains uncertain. Although the Nerazzurri maintain that Calhanoglu has not requested to terminate his contract, transfer rumors persist.

A recent development saw Turkish transfer specialist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu report that Calhanoglu`s agent, Gordon Stipic-Wipfler, has joined him in Istanbul.

It is understood that they will conduct several meetings with local clubs in Istanbul before returning to Italy, where Calhanoglu is expected to commence pre-season training with Inter.

Inter President Beppe Marotta recently confirmed that the Turkish international is expected to undergo medical tests on Wednesday, having received additional time off due to an injury sustained during the FIFA Club World Cup.

The key question now is whether Galatasaray or Fenerbahce will submit a truly compelling offer, or if, as Marotta suggested, these proposals will remain “imaginary” and purely media-driven.
