The ICC World Cup 2023 is in full swing and round 3 is about to complete. Teams are trying to get to the final four. South Africa, India, and New Zealand are well placed in the top three positions. Pakistan is currently at third but their position is not secure because Australia and England are also trying to make their places in the top four.
Pakistan have won 2 out of their 3 matches while England and Australia have 1 win each at the end of the third round. Australia due to their bad run rate is placed 8th on the points tally. England is sixth, but their loss against Afghanistan might hurt them a great deal as the tournament progresses.
Pakistan will take on Australia in their next fixture on the 20th of this month. An important match for both teams for the qualification of the Semi-Finals of the ICC World Cup 2023. So, both teams Pakistan and Australia will try to win this match to make continue their World Cup run.

How Pakistan Can Beat Australia
- Australian batting is struggling. Though they won against Sri Lanka comprehensively in the last match still they lost 5 wickets in chasing 210 runs. Against Australia, they only managed to score 199 runs while South Africa bowled them out with 177. So, this is one of the weaknesses that Pakistan can explore to win this match.
- The last match has given them some confidence but if they over-attack Pakistan for better results, they will also provide Pakistan a chance to get into the match.
- Adding a proper spinner Usama Mir by resting Shadab Khan or Muhammad Nawaz. Australia struggles against spinners so Pakistan needs to pick proper spinners in the next match. Abrar would be a better choice but he is not in the 15-members squad.
- Bringing an X-factor Fakhar Zaman in place of Imam. Both our openers are out-of-form. Fakhar Zaman carries an X-factor trade with him so he will be a better option to open with.
- The most important that the Pakistan team needs to work on is to change their mindset. The approach they are applying does not match modern-day cricket’s approach. Teams tend to have explosive batters in their top order for good starts.
