How Noni Madueke could have signed for Juventus

Football & Cricket

With Arsenal reportedly nearing a £55 million transfer for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, it`s interesting to recall a time when Massimiliano Allegri was advised to bring the promising English player to Juventus.

In February 2024, Giovanni Galeone, a mentor to Allegri, recommended that the then-manager of Juventus consider signing the Chelsea winger. Galeone mentioned he had discussed the player with Allegri “for a long time” but admitted uncertainty about the move`s feasibility for Juventus.

What Might Have Been: Madueke`s Potential Path to Juventus Instead of Arsenal

Instead of pursuing Madueke, Juventus ultimately decided to acquire Francisco Conceicao from Porto and Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina.

Both players joined on loan agreements; Conceicao`s transfer included an option to buy, while the deal for the Fiorentina winger featured a purchase obligation.

However, there are already reports linking Gonzalez away from Juventus this summer, and Conceicao might potentially return to Portugal.

The initial combined cost for these two players is €46.5 million. This amount could increase if Juventus chooses to permanently sign the Portuguese winger. This total figure is reportedly comparable to the £55 million Arsenal offered Chelsea for Madueke.
