ICC Cricket ODI World Cup 2003 Top Runs Scorer

Today we bring you the ICC Cricket ODI World Cup 2003 Top Runs Scorer. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar gave his all under the aggressive captaincy of Sourav Gangley and both played well to take their team to the World Cup final . The Aussies did their best and outplayed the other teams. Tendulkar, Ganguly, Ponting, Gilchrist and Gibbs still top the run scorers list.

 1. Sachin Tendulkar – India

Sachin Tendulkar was awarded the Golden Bat for his outstanding performance in the tournament. His 98 runs against Pakistan and 152 runs from 151 balls against Namibia were the highlights of the tournament. 

Tendulkar performed well throughout the tournament and did his best to fulfill his dream of winning the World Cup. Tendulkar looked dejected as he accepted the trophy for the best batsman of the tournament after his last game.

Sachin Tendulkar scored 673 runs for 165 runs in the tournament. Tendulkar topped the list of highest scorers in the 2003 Cricket World Cup.

2. Sourav Ganguly – India

My father also had a dream. He worked hard with his team and hoped to win the World Cup for his country. His performance during the tournament was outstanding. He played a few innings when the chips were down and India were in trouble.

 He became the first Indian batsman to score 300 runs in a World Cup tournament. Ganguly and his team performed very well and his individual performance motivated his players in the tournament. 

Sourav Ganguly captained the team and scored 465 runs including 300. Among the cricketers, he scored the most runs in the 2003 Cricket World Cup.

 3. Ricky Ponting – Australia

The tournament’s most successful captain Ricky Ponting changed the game with a stellar innings of 140 in the final. The unbeaten 100 points not only boosted the confidence of his teammates but also put pressure on his opponents. 

Ponting captained the World Cup and became Australia’s top scorer. He always led the team from the front and the team continued their 11-match unbeaten streak. Ricky Ponting scored 415 runs including 215 to help his country win the World Cup.

4. Adam Gilchrist – Australia

Adam Gilchrist’s superb performance helped his team win the World Cup. His record as a wicketkeeper was impressive as he made 21 dismissals and showed that the opener can score when needed. 

Gilchrist has the ability to run quickly between the wickets while stealing bases to put pressure on the opposition. His aggressive batting style and lively, fast pace put Australia at an advantage in the tournament.  Adam Gilchrist scored 408 with 4 fifties in the tournament.

5. Hershel Gibbs – South Africa

South African opener Herschel Gibbs performed well and had a great tournament. As an opener, he performed well in all matches and was South Africa’s top scorer. Although he failed to lead Gibbs to the Super Six stage in just six appearances, his scoring prowess and ambitious performances made him one of the tournament’s top scorers. 

Herschel Gibbs scored 384 points with 215 assists. Among the cricketers, Vishwas scored the most runs in the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
