ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: BCCI gives ‘Thalaiva’ Rajnikanth a golden ticket. Ahead of the 2023 World Cup, renowned Tamil film actor Rajnikanth has become the newest winner of the golden ticket. The VIP ticket was given to the seasoned starlet, who is most known for her work in Tamil films, by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah, who made the announcement via his official handle on X.

Amitabh Bacchan and Sachin Tendulkar received the golden ticket before the 72-year-old star. The holders of the golden ticket can enjoy the World Cup games from the VIP stands in addition to many other amenities.

Rajnikanth’s presence in the World Cup was described as “lighting up the World Cup” by BCCI on its official X account. The heading read:

The phenomenon outside of film! The BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah gave Shri @rajinikanth, the personification of charisma and cinematic excellence, the golden ticket. The renowned actor has transcended language and culture to leave an enduring impression on the hearts of millions.

We are delighted to announce that Thalaiva will attend the 2023 edition of the @ICC @cricketworldcup as our distinguished guest and will brighten the biggest cricketing event with his presence.

In the main event, Rohit Sharma, who is a powerful opener, will lead the Men in Blue and try to win the trophy. The 15-person team for the same was also revealed by the BCCI earlier this month.

India appears to be the squad in the best shape, as seen by their triumph over Sri Lanka in the 2023 Asia Cup final, which they won by a margin of 10 wickets. The three-game ODI series against Australia, which starts on September 22 in Mohali, will serve as their final test.
