ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Longest Partnership

Let’s take a look at ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Longest Partnership.

Marion Samuels and Chris Gayles (372)

West Indies were the overwhelming favorites to win their pool B match versus zimbabwe at the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Canberra. Unfortunately, the game’s first batter resulted in Dwayne Smith being out for a duck, forcing Chris Gayle to join Marlon Samuels with the score at 0/1.

The remainder of the West Indies 50 overs were spent for the most maximums by a single player in a game with 215 runs in just 147 balls and 16 sixes. However, Chris Gayle was dismissed on the final ball of the innings. In contrast, Marlon Samuels scored a rather unimpressive 133 runs in 156 balls.

During their 372-run stand, Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels of the West Indies scored the highest ODI partnership to date for their team. By using the D/L technique, the Windies eventually prevailed by 89 runs.

John Campbell and Shai Hope (365)

It should be no surprise that West Indies again holds the record for the second-highest partnership in ODIs. In a tri-nation series in 2019, it happened this time in Dublin against Ireland. John Campbell and Shai Hope were the opening partnership for the West Indies as they batted first. West Indies had already scored 365 runs when Ireland finally took their first wicket in the 48th over.

Shai Hope scored 170 runs off 22 boundaries and two maximums, while John Campbell scored 179 runs off 15 boundaries and six sixes in 137 balls. Ireland was held to 185 after West Indies had scored 381/3.

Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul David (331)

During New Zealand’s 1999 tour of India, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul David established the highest ODI partnership in India. India sought to regain momentum in the Second ODI in Hyderabad after Kiwis took a 1-0 lead in the first ODI.

First-innings batsman Sourav Ganguly got out in the second over after Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid joined him at the crease.

The pair continued to bat until the 48th over, putting together a partnership of 331 runs. Rahul Dravid was then dismissed for a run-a-ball 153, which was his highest ODI score. At the conclusion, Sachin Tendulkar was unbeaten with a score of 186, which included 20 boundaries and three sixes. India defeated New Zealand with 202 runs after scoring 376/2.
