ICC World Cup 2023 won’t include any additional protection for the Pakistan cricket team, according to the Indian government. The Pakistani men’s cricket squad will not receive any additional or enhanced protection during the ICC World Cup 2023. All visiting teams, including those from Pakistan, would enjoy the same degree of security while they are in India, according to the External Affairs Ministry.

Pakistan will play in India for the first time in seven years following their participation in the 2016 T20 World Cup. Babar Azam’s team recently received the final approval to travel to India for the World Cup. On October 6, they will face the Netherlands in their inaugural match. They will compete against the hosts, India, on October 14 in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

The Pakistani government was rumoured to desire better security for its squad, but the External Affairs Ministry insisted that they would treat them equally and provide each participating team with the necessary safety.

“The Pakistan cricket team will be treated the same as any other cricket team in the ICC World Cup,” said Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the External Affairs Ministry. “Of course, we hope that they will get all the support they need, as well as all the other teams who will be there. I hope the match turns out well and that this isn’t the start of a war as it initially appears to be.

It’s crucial to keep in mind that Pakistan assembled a high-level committee, among others, consisting of the Foreign Minister and the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, to conduct research and provide a thorough report on whether or not the nation should participate in the international cricket competition.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, was to get an immediate report from the committee. The report would then be used by Sharif to reach a decision. “Pakistan has traditionally maintained that politics and sport should be kept apart. In order to participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, it has decided to send its cricket team to India, according to a press statement on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ahmedabad will host the opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on October 5, 2023. The opening match will feature England and New Zealand, the 2019 World Cup champions. On the other side, Pakistan will launch its campaign in Hyderabad one day after the Netherlands did.
