In advance of the 2023 ODI World Cup, former England cricketer Nasser Hussain expressed his opinions on Pakistan’s unexpected style of play. He recognized Pakistan’s capacity for both success and unforeseen disasters.
Nasser particularly brought up Pakistan’s opening match in the tournament against the Netherlands during a chat on a YouTube channel, acknowledging the prospect of Pakistan suffering a setback against the European team.
“I believe Pakistan to be a very strong tournament team. They may lose that because they have the Netherlands ahead from the first game. Pakistan is what it is for you. But after that, they’ll sprint away. You review the most recent World T20. They were eliminated, and all of a sudden they are in the championship. Because of the brand and type of cricket they play, they are erratic. They are a very entertaining team,” Nasser said.
Additionally, according to Nasser, Pakistan might emerge as a formidable force if they are able to record above-average scores against every opponent they face throughout the World Cup.
“You are in trouble if they get an above par score against you, any team in the World Cup,” he said in conclusion.
To participate in the massive event, the Pakistani squad flew from Dubai to Hyderabad, India’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday.
Additionally, they participated in one warm-up game, which they lost on Friday to New Zealand by a score of 5 wickets. On October 6, Pakistan will face the Netherlands in the World Cup opener.
