India will take on Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. India has almost through to the Semi-Final but not officially. By beating Sri Lanka they will officially qualify for the Final Four. But they have to beat Sri Lanka by a huge margin to lead the points table once more. India needs to continue its winning streak before entering the knockout stage.
Sri Lanka on the other hand will look for a win to keep alive their hopes for the Semi-Finals. Beating India in today’s match will give them a chance to qualify for the knockouts. Sri Lanka’s NRR is also good so they have a fair chance to qualify but for that, Sri Lanka has to beat the most consistent team of the World Cup 2023.
India might come up with some changes for today’s match. Hardik Pandya’s recovery might be a concern for the team and playing 11 combinations. India has covered almost all the basics and they can afford a few changes to test out their bench strength. Ashwin and Shardul might be in and Bumrah or Sirja might be rested.
