Inter Milan has reportedly joined the competition to sign RC Lens midfielder Andy Diouf, 22, according to Fabrizio Romano. Diouf has attracted interest from various clubs this transfer window, including Crystal Palace and Napoli. Napoli previously appeared to be in pole position, with reports from Foot Mercato indicating they had extended a contract offer.
However, Romano reveals that Napoli`s €20 million bid to Lens was deemed insufficient, falling short of the French club`s valuation. Inter Milan has now submitted a more favorable proposal, reportedly exceeding €20 million, and has also initiated discussions directly with the player`s representatives.
Lens appears to be preparing for Diouf`s departure, having already secured Mamadou Sangaré, 23, from Rapid Wien for €8 million earlier this summer. While Diouf arrived at Lens with considerable promise, his performance has not consistently met expectations, suggesting an exit from northern France is increasingly likely.
