Inter Milan has officially inaugurated a new phase in its youth development strategy by establishing a new Under-23 team, set to compete in Serie C starting from the 2025-26 season.
Inter`s U23 Project Overview
Inter becomes the fourth Serie A club to introduce a U23 side in Serie C, joining Juventus Next Gen, Milan Futuro, and Atalanta U23. Notably, Milan Futuro will participate in Serie D in 2025-26 after being relegated from Serie C in their inaugural 2024-25 season.
The new squad will be officially known as ‘Inter U23’.
Stefano Vecchi, 54, has been appointed as the first head coach for the U23 team. Vecchi, a former player who emerged from Inter`s youth system, brings extensive experience, having coached the Inter Primavera team from 2014 to 2018 and serving twice as interim first-team coach.

Following his time with Inter, Vecchi has managed several clubs in Serie B and Serie C, including Venezia, Sudtirol, Feralpisalo, and Vicenza.
The U23 team will play its home games at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, sharing the venue with the Serie B club based there.
