Inter Milan and Club Brugge have finally concluded negotiations for the transfer of promising young midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic. The agreement stipulates a €10 million transfer fee, alongside a strategic buy-back option for Inter, set at €22 million, with the potential to increase to €25 million by 2027.
Although the core €10 million transfer fee had been provisionally settled weeks ago, the completion of the deal faced delays due to complex discussions surrounding the exact terms and valuation of this crucial buy-back clause.
Inter Retains Control Over Stankovic Until 2027
As reported by Sportitalia’s journalist Gianluigi Longari, both clubs have now reached a definitive consensus, incorporating significant adjustments from their initial proposals.
The latest development confirms that Inter will have the right to re-sign Stankovic in 2026 for a fee of €22 million. This buy-back option will then incrementally rise to €25 million if exercised in the summer of 2027, two years after its initial availability.
Notably, these revised figures are considerably lower than the initial terms Club Brugge had sought, which included a minimum buy-back clause of €28 million and a much shorter expiry period of just one year.
Aleksandar Stankovic, a midfielder who is set to turn 20 next week, carries a notable legacy as the son of former Inter star, Dejan Stankovic.
He progressed through Inter`s esteemed youth academy system and spent the previous season gaining valuable professional experience while on loan with FC Luzern in Switzerland.
