Following Jannik Sinner`s historic Wimbledon win on Sunday, numerous Serie A clubs such as Napoli, Inter, Juventus, Milan, and Roma, along with prominent figures in Italian football, extended their congratulations.

Sinner achieved a historic milestone at The Championships by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in four sets in the final, becoming the first Italian man to win the prestigious tournament.

Sinner`s triumph was a major headline in Italian sports newspapers on Monday, with many Italian football figures and clubs highlighting his significant achievement.

Notably, Sinner is also an ardent football enthusiast and a supporter of AC Milan.

Given his allegiance, it was fitting that the Rossoneri were among the initial clubs to congratulate the 23-year-old on social media platforms.

On X (formerly Twitter), AC Milan posted: “A day for the history books! You’re one of a kind, Jannik.”

Juventus also offered congratulations, specifically noting that Sinner was the first Italian male player to secure a Wimbledon title.

AS Roma acknowledged Sinner`s win, stating: “A historic moment for Italian sport. Congratulations, Jannik!”

Gianluigi Buffon, Italy’s Delegation Chief, also commented: “Immense Jannik. Today, you wrote an unforgettable page in Italian sports history. You entered the legend by winning Wimbledon with class, courage and the maturity of a true champion, against the great Alcaraz. Watching you play and win fills our hearts with joy, keep making us proud, giant!”
