Jay Shah states that the World Cup 2023 schedule will be altered after three ICC full members objection. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may reschedule the date of the marquee India-Pakistan match set for October 15, however authorities insist the much-anticipated World Cup match would remain in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. That is hardly the only change on the horizon.
“We have received requests from 2-3 ICC member boards participating in the World Cup to make some changes to the schedule,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah told reporters on Thursday following a meeting with the ten staging associations in Delhi. “What’s important for us is that we don’t have to change venues.”
The Navaratri festival, which is widely celebrated in the state, may have motivated the change in schedule for the India-Pakistan match. This could cause problems for law enforcement. If the match was shifted for security concerns, Shah unequivocally denied it.
Although no alternative dates have been verified, it has been learned that efforts are being made to stage the match on October 14 in order to avoid serious disruptions to the plans of the ICC’s commercial partners, vendors, and cricket fans who may have pre-booked hotels and flights to Ahmedabad.

In terms of other schedule alterations, the longer interval between specific matches may be shortened. The complete picture of how many alterations to the original programme of the 46-day event will emerge only in the next 3-4 days.
The BCCI has stated that physical tickets will be available for the 2018 World Cup. According to sources, the board is unsure whether systems are in place to conduct an e-ticketing exercise in high-capacity stadiums in India.
