Luka Jovic, the forward who recently departed AC Milan as a free agent, is reportedly on the cusp of signing with Greek Super League club AEK Athens. Spanish sports daily Marca indicates that the former Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt striker will join AEK on a free transfer, confirming Monday`s rumors.

Jovic Expected to Join AEK Athens

The 27-year-old Serbian international had attracted interest from various clubs, including Real Oviedo, who recently secured promotion to LaLiga for the 2024-25 season. However, Jovic was reportedly not swayed by Oviedo`s project. Instead, he found AEK Athens` offer, submitted over the past weekend, more appealing. He is now said to be en route to Athens to finalize the terms of his new contract.

During his two-year tenure at San Siro with AC Milan, Jovic made 47 appearances across all competitions, netting a total of 13 goals. These included eight goals in Serie A, four in the Coppa Italia, and one in the Champions League.
