In a significant boost for Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham has been included in the squad set to face Marseille on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabéu. Manager Xabi Alonso had previously expressed optimism about the English international`s return. Bellingham underwent surgery for a shoulder injury sustained during this summer`s FIFA Club World Cup, though he is not expected to start against Les Olympiens.
Adding to Real Madrid`s positive news, French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga also rejoins Alonso`s squad. Camavinga has been sidelined since last April, making his return a welcome sight for Los Blancos.
Meanwhile, Marseille, under manager Roberto De Zerbi, will be without two new signings, Nayef Aguerd and Hamad Junior Traoré, both of whom have picked up injuries ahead of their trip to the Spanish capital. Neither player participated in this morning`s training session at La Commanderie before the squad`s departure for Madrid this evening.
Roberto De Zerbi is scheduled to hold his pre-match press conference this evening at the Bernabéu. This marks Marseille`s return to the Champions League, their first appearance in the competition since the 2022-2023 season when they were managed by Igor Tudor.
