Reims is undergoing a significant squad restructuring following its recent relegation to Ligue 2. Junya Ito, a key Japanese international, is anticipated to be one of the first players to depart the club this summer.
Despite being under contract until 2026, Reims is reportedly open to selling Ito in the current transfer window to avoid the risk of losing him as a free agent in the future. Strong interest has already emerged from Italy, with Bologna initiating preliminary discussions back in June. Both Genoa and Fiorentina are also closely monitoring the versatile forward. Furthermore, prominent coaches, such as Patrick Vieira and Stefano Pioli, have reportedly identified Ito as a target to enhance their teams` attacking dynamism.
During the previous season, Ito made 33 appearances in Ligue 1, contributing four goals. He stood out as a crucial offensive outlet for the struggling Reims squad, which ultimately faced relegation via the play-offs, losing out to FC Metz.
