Jürgen Klopp has emphatically shut down recent rumors linking him to a managerial role at Real Madrid, expressing clear annoyance at reports suggesting the Spanish club had initiated contact.
Speaking at a recent media gathering, Klopp dismissed the claims as entirely unfounded, clarifying that neither Real Madrid nor any of its representatives have approached him. The German coach remains dedicated to his current position within the Red Bull football organization and has no plans to step away in the foreseeable future.
These statements come amidst widespread speculation in European media concerning potential leadership changes at Real Madrid, with ongoing discussions about the club’s long-term managerial strategy.
Klopp Strongly Rejects Transfer Speculation
Klopp did not conceal his irritation when addressing the pervasive rumors circulating across various news outlets. He stressed that there has been no communication from Real Madrid officials, including club president Florentino Pérez, implying that such speculation is fueled by unreliable sources.
He criticized the rapid dissemination of unverified information, noting how contemporary reporting and AI-generated content can often create misleading narratives. Klopp suggested that if Real Madrid had genuinely contacted him, the news would have emerged through credible channels rather than mere conjecture.
In his direct remarks, Klopp stated: “That’s nonsense. They haven’t called even once. Did Real or Pérez call me to ask: ‘Jürgen, are you interested?’ Or is it enough if some Austrian outlet or AI writes any old rubbish? It’s irritating. If Real had called me, you would have known. But they haven’t called. And what next – am I also taking over Atlético at the same time? Sorry, Madrid. They have to call me first BEFORE I can say anything.”
Unwavering Commitment to the Red Bull Project
Beyond refuting the Madrid links, Klopp also clarified his professional future, asserting that he has no immediate plans to depart from his role within the Red Bull football network. He explicitly stated: “I’m not planning to quit anytime soon.”

Since transitioning to his new position after leaving Liverpool, Klopp has been instrumental in overseeing strategic football development across the various clubs in the Red Bull organization. This role presents a distinct challenge compared to daily team management. Instead of focusing solely on match preparations and squad selection, Klopp is now deeply involved in broader football operations, including the development of talent pathways, recruitment strategies, and establishing a consistent sporting identity for the network.
