Juventus Football Club has officially announced the acquisition of João Mário from FC Porto. The transfer fee amounts to €11.4 million, with an additional €1.2 million in ancillary costs. This transaction is part of a larger agreement that includes Alberto Costa moving in the opposite direction.
The transfer was finalized today after the player successfully completed his medical examinations and signed a contract valid until June 2030.
An official statement confirmed the precise financial terms of the move: €11.4 million plus €1.2 million in additional costs, bringing the total sum to €12.6 million.
This amount will be payable over a period of four financial years.
João Mário Joins Juventus Squad

João Mário is a product of FC Porto`s youth academy. Last season, he was an integral part of the first team, making 42 competitive appearances and providing seven assists.
The 25-year-old footballer primarily plays as a right-back, but he can also effectively operate in more advanced midfield roles or as part of a three-man attack if needed.
As part of this dual agreement, Alberto Costa is transferring to FC Porto in a separate deal valued at €16 million.
This represents a profit for the club, considering Costa was originally acquired from Vitória Guimarães for just €12.5 million in January.
