FC Porto has reached an agreement with Juventus for the permanent transfer of Francisco Conceicao, valued at €32 million. This fee will be disbursed in four installments of €8 million each. Notably, this arrangement exceeds the player`s previous €30 million release clause.
The Turin club was under pressure to finalize the deal swiftly, as Conceicao`s release clause was set to increase from €30 million to €45 million at midnight. However, this transaction does not formally constitute the activation of the release clause, as exercising such a clause would necessitate a single, upfront payment.
Conceicao`s Determination to Join Juventus

Initially, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano indicated that FC Porto had accepted a €30 million offer, payable over four installments—a more extended payment plan than the three-installment structure previously reported by O Jogo. Subsequent reports from O Jogo and Sky Sport Italia clarified the final agreement, confirming a total fee of €32 million, paid in four equal installments of €8 million.
A key aspect of the agreement was Francisco Conceicao`s written consent to forgo a portion of the 20% transfer fee he would normally be entitled to, given that the transfer was concluded outside the parameters of a direct release clause activation. Reports earlier today suggested he agreed to halve his share, accepting €3 million instead of the potential €6 million.
Conceicao initially arrived at Juventus last summer on a season-long loan deal costing €10 million, a deal that did not include an option for a permanent transfer. Despite interest from other clubs willing to offer a higher sum, the player`s strong desire was to continue his career in Turin with Juventus.
