As part of Serie A Week 5, Juventus hosted Atalanta at their home ground, the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin. The match kicked off at 17:00 UK time (16:00 GMT) on September 27, 2025.
For this fixture, Juventus deployed a fresh attacking trio featuring Loïs Openda, Kenan Yildiz, and Vasilije Adzic. Atalanta, in turn, presented Nikola Krstovic, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Lazar Samardzic in their offensive lineup.

Both teams entered this match unbeaten in Serie A this season, despite having faced challenging tests in the Champions League. Recently, Juventus had shown defensive vulnerabilities, evident in their 4-3 victory over Inter and a thrilling 4-4 draw against Borussia Dortmund.
The “Old Lady” was grappling with several personnel issues, as Francisco Conceicao, Fabio Miretti, and Arek Milik were unavailable. Head coach Igor Tudor once again opted for squad rotation, giving a starting nod to 19-year-old talent Vasilije Adzic, who, after scoring the winning goal against Inter in the previous match, made his first start. Pierre Kalulu was pushed into a more advanced right-sided role to bolster the defensive line, while Teun Koopmeiners, preferred over Manuel Locatelli, played against his former club.

Atalanta, under new coach Ivan Juric, had displayed mixed results. The team secured disappointing draws against Pisa and Parma, and suffered a significant 0-4 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. However, there were also positive outcomes: victories over Lecce and Torino, where the team scored seven goals while conceding only one.
Atalanta`s injury list was extensive: Giorgio Scalvini, Isak Hien, Nicola Zalewski, Gianluca Scamacca, Sead Kolasinac, and Mitchel Bakker were all sidelined. Nevertheless, Ederson and Charles De Ketelaere managed to return to the bench. Mario Pasalic shifted into midfield, with Lazar Samardzic and Kamaldeen Sulemana providing support for Nikola Krstovic in attack.

Curiously, Atalanta had remained unbeaten in Turin since March 2018, recording five victories and two draws, including a dominant 4-0 win last season.
The match concluded in a 1-1 draw. The first goal was scored in the 45+1 minute by Kamaldeen Sulemana for Atalanta. Juventus equalized in the 78th minute through a goal from Juan Cabal. During the game, Marten de Roon of Atalanta received a yellow card in the 32nd minute and was later sent off in the 80th minute after receiving a second yellow card. Davide Zappacosta also received a yellow card in the 87th minute.
