Presnel Kimpembe, the 30-year-old French international, appears poised to depart Paris Saint-Germain. Reports indicate he is set for a transfer to Qatar in the coming days, having surprisingly turned down an opportunity to remain in European football.
According to L`Équipe, AC Milan showed interest in signing the defender late in the recent transfer window. However, Kimpembe reportedly rejected the prospect of moving to the Italian club entirely, which meant negotiations never even began, despite Milan`s clear intentions.
This decision means Kimpembe will not join fellow Frenchmen Christopher Nkunku and Adrien Rabiot, both of whom signed with AC Milan in the final stages of the transfer period. Instead, he will complete his move to Qatar, a deal expected to be finalized soon, as the transfer window there remains open.
Kimpembe`s recent playing time has been severely limited since he sustained a serious ankle injury in February 2023. Furthermore, he is reportedly not considered part of coach Luis Enrique`s plans for PSG.
