Lazio clinched a slender 1-0 victory against Avellino in their second pre-season friendly. The winning goal came late in the match from a Matteo Guendouzi penalty, following a performance that was largely lacking in dynamism.
During the first half, Lazio found it challenging to capitalize on scoring opportunities created by Mattia Zaccagni and Matias Vecino. A header from Taty Castellanos was also disallowed. At halftime, coach Maurizio Sarri opted for a significant overhaul, introducing eight new players. The few remaining starters were then substituted out by the 62nd minute.
The second half mirrored the first in terms of Lazio`s inability to convert chances. Meanwhile, Ivan Provedel made a vital double save to prevent Avellino from scoring. The decisive moment arrived in the 90th minute when Tijjani Noslin won a penalty, which Guendouzi confidently struck home to secure the victory.
