Le Havre AC has officially completed the signing of goalkeeper Mory Diaw, aged 32, from Clermont Foot. The Senegalese international, who has represented his country twice, joins Le Havre on a two-year contract. His arrival strengthens a squad looking to maintain its position in Ligue 1 for a third consecutive season.
Diaw brings significant experience from France`s top division, gained during his time with Clermont. He joined Clermont after their inaugural season in Ligue 1 and quickly became the club`s first-choice goalkeeper over the subsequent two campaigns.
Following Clermont`s relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the 2023/24 season, Diaw expressed a desire to depart. Despite initial interest, no immediate transfer occurred, and Diaw remained with the club until the winter transfer window, when he secured a loan move to Rodez AF.
This move marks Diaw`s permanent departure from Clermont. Clermont themselves are preparing for life in Ligue 2, having successfully navigated the relegation/promotion playoff against US Boulogne CO to avoid falling further down the football pyramid.
