Following widespread reports and anticipation last week, the transfer of 22-year-old Rémy Labeau Lascary from Lens to Angers SCO on a season-long loan has been officially confirmed this Monday. The young attacker is set to spend the entirety of the current campaign with the Angers squad.
Labeau Lascary’s recent footballing journey has been marked by a significant injury. He suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in December, an ailment that severely limited his playing time for a substantial portion of the 2023-24 season and potentially affected his readiness for the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign. Before this setback, the talented French forward had featured in 14 Ligue 1 matches for `Les Sang et Or`, where he managed to score two goals and provide one assist.
Prior to his return to Lens for the 2023-24 season, the Guadeloupe-born player experienced a successful period during a loan spell at Stade Lavallois. In the 2022-23 campaign, he made 34 appearances in Ligue 2, demonstrating his scoring ability by netting four goals. This experience underscores his potential to contribute effectively in professional league environments.
Labeau Lascary`s contract with Lens is scheduled to conclude on June 30, 2026. Meanwhile, Angers has commenced their season with mixed results, registering one victory and one defeat in their initial two matchdays. This includes a narrow 1-0 loss to reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain last Friday, indicating their competitive spirit despite the outcome.
Currently, Angers holds the 11th position in the league standings. They are preparing for their next challenge, which will be their final fixture of August, as they host Rennes at the Stade Raymond Kopa this Sunday.
