After a significant period away from competitive play, Rémy Labeau Lascary (22) is reportedly on the verge of securing a new temporary club for the current season. According to the reputable French sports newspaper L’Équipe, RC Lens is actively negotiating a season-long loan agreement with Angers SCO for the talented striker, who hails from Guadeloupe.
Labeau Lascary`s previous season was largely curtailed in December due to a severe cruciate ligament rupture. Prior to his injury, he had managed to score two goals in 14 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Sang et Or. His existing contract with Lens is valid until 2028. Meanwhile, Angers recently experienced a 1-0 defeat against the reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain on Friday, following their initial 1-0 victory over Paris FC in the opening match.
Earlier in the month, Lens solidified their attacking options by signing veteran striker and former World Cup winner Florian Thauvin (32) on a three-year deal. This move strongly suggested that Labeau Lascary might not be a central part of Lens` plans for the ongoing season, making a loan move a logical step for his development and game time.
Angers SCO`s next fixture is scheduled for August 31, when they will host Stade Rennais at their home ground, Stade Raymond Kopa.
