Leon Bailey Suffers Injury During First Roma Training Session

Football & Cricket

Upon his transfer from Aston Villa, Leon Bailey`s career with AS Roma unfortunately commenced on the worst possible note. The Jamaican winger sustained a muscular injury during his very first training session with the Italian club.

The international footballer had only just arrived in Rome yesterday to complete his medical examinations and formally put pen to paper on his contract earlier this morning.

This move is structured as a loan deal, reportedly costing AS Roma €3 million, with an embedded option to make the transfer permanent for an additional €20 million, complemented by €2 million in performance-related add-ons.

An Unfortunate Start for Bailey at Roma

During his initial training session today, Sky Sport Italia reported that Bailey halted at the conclusion of the drills, visibly clutching his leg. While the full extent of the problem is not yet clear, there are already growing concerns that he might not be available to make his debut for the Giallorossi until after the upcoming international break.

It is noteworthy that Bailey encountered several injury issues last season during his tenure with Aston Villa, with many of those problems also being muscular in nature, which raises further concern about this recurring pattern.

The attacking winger recently celebrated his 28th birthday earlier this month.
