Lille OSC`s central defenders are currently attracting significant transfer interest this summer. Bafodé Diakité has been a long-standing target for Bournemouth, while Alexsandro Ribeiro has also garnered attention, particularly after making his debut for the Brazilian national team.
Consequently, LOSC is exploring options in the transfer market for a new central defender, anticipating the potential departure of one of their current starters. Fenerbahçe`s 30-year-old Alexander Djiku has emerged as a key target. Lille`s interest in the Ghanaian international is not exclusive, as Villarreal, recently impacted by a long-term injury to former Toulouse FC defender Logan Costa, and AS Roma are also reportedly keen on acquiring his services.
Djiku brings considerable experience from France`s top flight, having made 221 appearances in Ligue 1. His availability this summer stems from entering the final year of his contract with Fenerbahçe, making him an attractive prospect for clubs. During the last season, the ex-RC Strasbourg Alsace defender featured in 38 matches across all competitions for the Turkish club.
