As discussions surrounding a contract renewal for Gianluigi Donnarumma at Paris Saint-Germain have currently reached an impasse, the likelihood of Lucas Chevalier making a move to PSG this summer appears to be increasing.
Chevalier has consistently been a long-term target for PSG, with transfer rumors linking him to the reigning European champions throughout the current campaign. While Donnarumma`s strong return to form, which was instrumental in PSG`s UEFA Champions League victory, had previously quieted these speculations, the Italian goalkeeper`s future at the club is now clouded by uncertainty.
In anticipation of a potential departure, Lille has already put contingency plans into motion, identifying several goalkeeping options. According to reports from L`Équipe, Robin Roefs of NEC Nijmegen is considered a viable candidate for Les Dogues. Furthermore, as revealed by Sacha Tavolieri, Guillaume Restes from Toulouse FC is also on their radar. Coventry City`s Oliver Dovin was another name being considered until he sustained a serious injury back in April.
Adding to the list, La Provence indicates that Jeffrey De Lange, the reserve goalkeeper for Olympique de Marseille, is also among the names on Lille`s shortlist for a potential replacement for Chevalier, should they need to recruit a new shot-stopper in the transfer market.
