Lille’s Goalkeeper Search: Robin Roefs Eyed as Lucas Chevalier Prepares for PSG Move

Football & Cricket

French club Lille is reportedly eyeing Dutch goalkeeper Robin Roefs, 22, from NEC Nijmegen, as a prime candidate to bolster their squad during the upcoming summer transfer window. This potential acquisition comes as current first-choice goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier appears on the verge of a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

With Chevalier`s imminent departure, Les Dogues are actively seeking a suitable successor. Roefs, a Dutch U21 international, is among several goalkeepers with whom the Northern French club has initiated discussions, aiming for a swift resolution to their goalkeeping dilemma. While talks are underway, no formal bid has yet been submitted to the Eredivisie club, and Roefs is also attracting interest from several English clubs.

Chevalier Nears PSG Move After Agreeing Personal Terms

The 23-year-old shot-stopper is poised to leave Stade Pierre-Mauroy, having already reached a personal agreement with the Parisian giants. If the transfer proceeds, Chevalier is expected to sign a five-year deal at the Parc des Princes. Although no official offer has been lodged with Lille, Paris Saint-Germain reportedly understands that a transfer fee in the region of €40 million will be required to secure the young goalkeeper`s services.
