Facing significant hurdles in their pursuit of Newcastle United`s 25-year-old striker Alexander Isak, Liverpool might now turn their attention to a long-standing target: 22-year-old Bradley Barcola.
This summer, Liverpool has already secured the signings of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitiké, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, but their transfer activity is far from over. The Merseyside club remains persistent in their quest for Isak; however, Newcastle is currently holding firm on their position.
Newcastle`s steadfast stance could compel Liverpool to explore other options. Among the alternative targets being considered are Real Madrid`s 24-year-old Rodrygo and PSG`s Barcola. Notably, Barcola has been on Liverpool`s radar for an extended period.
Barcola`s playing time has seen a reduction following the arrivals of Désiré Doué and, more significantly, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who operates in the Frenchman`s preferred position. Despite this, Liverpool could now launch a considerable bid to acquire his services.
PSG is reluctant to part ways with the winger, whose contract they are, in fact, keen to extend. Therefore, any successful move would necessitate a substantial offer. It is speculated that the Parisian club might demand more than double the €50 million they invested in him two years ago.
