Promoted Ligue 1 club FC Lorient has officially announced the acquisition of 28-year-old Bingourou Kamara. The Senegalese international goalkeeper, previously with Pau FC, joins Les Merlus as a free agent after his contract expired. Kamara has committed to a two-year deal with the Brittany-based club.
Last season, Kamara distinguished himself as one of the top goalkeepers in Ligue 2 during his tenure with Pau. This move marks a significant return to the French top flight for the Senegalese player, following his previous stints with Strasbourg and Montpellier.
“It is with great joy and pleasure that I join FC Lorient today, a club that has had some very good goalkeepers in the past. Joining this lineage is a real source of pride, and I hope to bring my experience to this group,” stated Lorient`s newest recruit.
Kamara is widely expected to assume the role of Lorient`s primary goalkeeper. This expectation comes as the club`s current number one, Yvon Mvogo, is anticipated to depart the team upon the conclusion of his contract.
