Former striker Luca Toni identifies a single “flaw” associated with Juventus` Dusan Vlahovic, though he doesn`t attribute individual blame to the Serbian forward for it.
Dusan Vlahovic has started the 2025-26 season in stellar goalscoring form, netting four times in his initial four competitive appearances across all competitions. Remarkably, with three of those being substitute appearances, Vlahovic averages an impressive goal every 35 minutes.
Although many anticipated his departure during the summer transfer window, Vlahovic is proving to be an increasingly crucial asset for Juventus head coach Igor Tudor.
Luca Toni`s Perspective on Vlahovic`s Performance at Juventus
Toni, a World Cup champion who, like Vlahovic, previously played for both Juventus and Fiorentina, expressed no surprise regarding the striker`s current season form. He reiterates that Vlahovic faces only one potential criticism, for which the player himself is not responsible.
“I`m not surprised,” Toni stated in an interview with Tuttosport, commenting on the Serbian`s performance this season.
“The only `fault` one might find with him is his high salary, but that`s not his doing. If Juventus offered him that contract, it means they believed he warranted that value at the time.”
“I believe Vlahovic is under less pressure now, as he isn`t always a starter, and new strikers have been brought in. However, in my honest opinion, he remains their only true striker, a genuine `killer` within the penalty area.”
“While he clearly needs to refine his play outside the penalty area, few can match his effectiveness inside the box,” Toni asserted. “I`m pleased with his strong start, and I particularly appreciate his humble approach in interviews and other interactions. His readiness to contribute to the team and for Tudor is, in my view, a significant positive.”
