Olympique Lyonnais is reportedly keeping a close watch on Real Mallorca`s goalkeeper, Dominik Greif (28), according to a recent report from RMC Sport. The French club is actively seeking a new first-choice goalkeeper following the departure of Brazilian international Lucas Perri, who moved to newly promoted Premier League side Leeds United FC in a €16 million deal last week.
Furthermore, Lyon has engaged legal counsel to annul an €8 million agreement previously reached with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of Matt Turner. Sources indicate that Lyon intends to allocate a portion of the transfer fee received from Leeds United towards securing a new primary goalkeeper, with Greif reportedly being their main target.
The Slovakian international goalkeeper enjoyed a remarkable season with RCD Mallorca, playing a crucial role in their impressive tenth-place finish in La Liga. After spending four seasons in Spain, Greif might be open to exploring new challenges elsewhere. Adding to his appeal, Greif is currently in the final year of his contract, a detail that could be highly advantageous for Lyon, given their current financial constraints.
