“The medical staff conducts daily surveillance. We’ll wait to see what they decide after the next 36 hours. Certainly, he feels better today.
Dravid responded that Gill will continue to be watched over when questioned further. The medical staff has not yet ruled him out.
“We’ll continue daily checking in on him. We’ll wait until after tomorrow to see how he feels, Dravid remarked.
In the fifty-over format this year, Gill has been one of India’s best players; in addition to leading the team in runs scored, the teenager also led the competition in runs scored at the Asia Cup last month, scoring 302 runs in six innings. In the competition, he scored two fifty-scores and a century.
Ishan Kishan may move up to the top of the order if Gill is unable to play in the match on Sunday, starting the Indian batting order with Rohit Sharma.
