Before the World Cup, which will take place in October and November, India has a lengthy tour of the West Indies, which will be followed by a trip to Ireland. The middle-order hitter last played for the Indian side in the fourth test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in 2023 after undergoing back surgery earlier in the year.
As Iyer continues his recovery at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, Rohit Sharma and company would be aiming to get him back in the lineup as soon as possible.
