Serie A club Napoli has reportedly initiated contact regarding Manchester City`s versatile midfielder Matheus Nunes. Sporting director Giovanni Manna is said to have opened discussions with the Portuguese international`s agent, Jorge Mendes.
Italian transfer journalist Nicolo Schira reported on X that the Neapolitan outfit has submitted an inquiry to the English champions about a potential move for the player.

Nunes’s ability to operate effectively as both a right-back and a central midfielder makes him an attractive option for Napoli, offering valuable squad depth to new coach Antonio Conte.
Nunes`s Role at Manchester City
Having joined Manchester City from Wolves in 2023 for over €60 million, Nunes has spent two seasons with the Premier League giants.
The Portuguese international primarily played a rotational role under Pep Guardiola, featuring in 43 matches across all competitions last season.

Despite his versatility, Manchester City might be willing to let Nunes go, especially given he has accumulated only 244 minutes of play across the first six Premier League games this season.
This potential transfer follows Napoli`s summer acquisition of Manchester City stalwart Kevin De Bruyne, suggesting a continued interest in players from the English league.
